The Bicycle Advocacy Group

The Bicycle Advocacy Group set up a National Bicycle Route Competition to encourage bicycle commuters to share their own commuting routes to map out a national resource of bicycle routes that can be used by anyone planning to ride to work, school, university or just to the shops along safe and efficient cycle routes. The competition, 'My Choice - My Route' , involved giving out prizes in vouchers for cycling equipment to the best routes.

The group also carried out a National Bike Count. Counting stations where allocated in different localities to help identify where the best routes will be of most help to commuters. The counting stations were also used to raise driver awareness of cyclists.
