The Malta National Bicycle Ride 2016

 

 

 

This year marked the 3rd edition of the Malta National Bicycle Ride and was again held on the morning of the​ 21st of September, Independence Day. Around 200 people participated in the ride. The event was organised as part of the European Mobility Week and the European Mobility Action Campaign.

Cyclists were accompanied by a fleet of electric vehicles owned by Transport Malta and police escort while passing through several towns and villages along the circular route.

4 lucky participants won a cash grant to purchase a pedelec in a draw that was held after the ride. The Minister for Transport, Joe Mizzi, addressed the crowd at the end of the event and thanked all those who participated. He also handed out the prizes to the winners.
